Written when Grace’s husband, Will, entered hospital in January 1991 for heart surgery with a doubtful prognosis.

My dearest one I lift you up
And place you in God’s hands;
He knows the way that lies ahead
And you he understands.

He sees the path you have to take,
He knows just what you face,
He’s planned it all in His great love
He’ll give all needed grace.

He will be watching over you,
He knows what suffering is;
He’ll keep you in his loving care,
He’s with you through all this.

He knows what pain may come to you,
And that it’s hard to bear;
He trod the path of pain Himself,
In this he says he’ll share.

So lift your eyes, ‘be still and know’
That He is in control;
Whatever storms of fear or doubt,
He’ll calm the waves that roll.

He’s given precious promises
To help you on the way;
‘I will be with you’ He has said,
So trust Him every day.

He says “a new heart I will give
And a new spirit too”
So let Him work His sovereign will
He’ll see you safely through.

Our friends are praying for you too,
The family as well;
They want to see you fit once more
The Good News still to tell.

So dearest one I send my love
I’ll pray each day – each hour
And when you’re well and strong again
We’ll praise Him for His power.

Grace

    What beautiful poems they all are. I’m so glad that I remembered to ask for your Web address! You & Ros have such a Godly (therefore ‘goodly’) heritage; as have I. How blessed & privileged we are. Thank-you both for sharing those ‘goodies’ at VBC.
    My love, Mary.
