Tim and Chloe in South Africa and India
EWF helped Tim and Chloe go to South Africa and India
… they went with Youth With A Mission on their Discileship Training School (DTS)
Here are some exerpts from their blog.
The base at J-Bay was much more basic than here, on the edge of a township. We were thankful when we arrived to find that the plan to sleep in tents wasn’t happening and we were to stay in the hospitality building. This meant we could cook our own breakfast of bacon and eggs! It was a blessing from God because otherwise it would have been a manky week, since the promised summer weather didn’t exist…more like autumn (we had all been assured it would be summer weather so we packed very lightly)! J-bay is apparently surf capital of SA so there were a few large surf-wear outlets (Billabong and Quiksilver). Tim went surfing every morning at 6am with one of the guys from Muizenberg. One morning he caught a 2.5m wave and rode it standing!
We have now finished our last week in SA!
Previous to this week we learnt about Spiritual Warfare. We found it to be the best week of all the teaching. The speaker focused on us having a right and deep relationship with God as our Father, as the most important thing to resist the devil. We were taught about the Tabernacle and how it reflects in the new testament. It was new teaching to us both and has really opened our eyes to even more of what Jesus did for us. One very amazing fact: the curtains separating the Outer Court, Inner Sanctum and Holy of Holies were named Way, Truth and Life!! WOW! There are so many little details involved in the tabernacle that Jesus fulfilled, and God is ‘tabernacling’ with us! This week has been busy, busy. We have been getting everything sorted for our visit to India
