Joy is especially important in the Christian life because it changes our perspective on some of the challenges we face.

• Read Proverbs 15:30 and invent a scenario which might have prompted Proverbs to say that.
• Can you think of reasons why Paul might have written Philippians 4:1?

In Psalm 4:6-7 David in contrasting the ‘many’ people who seek only prosperity with his own heart which seeks joy.

• Talk about how that might work out for you.
• You’ll find the same idea in Habakkuk 3:17-18.
